"Well, congratulations to the other contestants, even though you didn't deserve the attention and deep down you probably know that."
Wow dude that is like... a really horrible thing to say about other people and their hard work.
Don't be envious, getting recognized takes a lot of time and a lot of effort. You're not just gonna immediately blow up because you participated in an event, cause while events like these can help you grow its not 100% garanteed your stuff will automatically be seen, and you just have to accept that. Also, you should NEVER put others down just because you're upset they are more well known than you, jealousy is not gonna get you far whatsoever. Toxicity and bitterness like this is never okay, especially in a community like Newgrounds that encourages others to be supportive of each other's work, no matter the amount of followers.

No need to be bitter about this. First of all, Pixel Day is a day to give the spotlight to pixelart and chiptune, which is about you too. So even if some people doesn't "win", they're recognized. I found a lot of cool pixel artists thanks to this competition, even though they're not "popular". It's okay.
Second, it's to be expected that the most "popular" artists would get the most attention : they're popular for a reason, and they deserve it. But even in last year pixel day, a lot of artists weren't even that popular, and won nonetheless.
I liked your entry, but your bitterness about this day is misplaced. And I didn't even took part in the competition and I'm not even a pixel artist.
And... The results haven't even been announced???
